President — Growth, Operations & Impact
Job Description (Fully Remote Role)

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to serve as our President of Growth, Operations, and Impact. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for building and managing Diversity Lab’s infrastructure as we grow and evolve, including how we sustain operational excellence, manage our pipeline of new and evolving experimental projects, engage our team, clients, and community, and leverage data and technology to drive change.

You will lead a talented operations and data team and partner with key stakeholders internally and externally to harness the power of science, data, and technology to positively impact inclusion, equity, and diversity in the legal profession and beyond.

About Diversity Lab

Diversity Lab works with law firms and legal departments across the country to architect fair, equitable, and inclusive talent systems. By embedding structure, accountability, and transparency, our pilots – grounded in data and behavioral science – level the playing field so everyone has an opportunity to thrive and advance into leadership. Over the last 10 years, we’ve partnered with more than 400 leading law firms and legal departments across the US, Canada, and the UK to test, measure, and share the outcomes of 25+ innovative pilots to increase inclusivity in law.

Our inaugural pilot – the OnRamp Fellowship – is now the largest re-entry program for lawyers returning to the profession after an extended career hiatus. To date, we have placed more than 120 women lawyers, one-third of whom are racially and ethnically diverse, with top law firms and legal departments across the US.

To inspire others to develop and experiment with innovative initiatives such as the Fellowship, we launched the Women in Law Hackathon in 2016 and the Diversity in Law Hackathon series in 2018. These first-of-their-kind pitch competitions brought together law firm partners, legal department leaders, talent experts, and law students to generate ideas to increase diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

The Mansfield Rule is an idea that was generated by one of the Women in Law Hackathon teams and further developed by Diversity Lab. Launched in 2017, Mansfield now includes 350+ firms and 80+ legal departments in the US, the UK, and Canada. The Certified firms have made measurable progress in increasing diversity in leadership.

In 2020, Diversity Lab launched the Move the Needle Fund, the first-ever collaboration among four law firms, legal departments, and a dozen community leaders designed to test and measure a dozen research-backed “bias interrupters.”

In celebration of our 10th anniversary in 2024, Diversity Lab is hosting a “Moments to Movements Hackathon” with 100+ law firm and legal department leaders to encourage iteration and elevation of many of the existing inclusion initiatives we have developed and piloted over the years.
