About the Role

The Director of Business Services Professional Development is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent team. This role will be responsible for leading the firm’s learning initiatives for business services colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous professional growth, while developing and implementing a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and fosters employee growth. This role will be located in either our New York, Washington, D.C., or Global Services office, located in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Frequent travel may be required. NY is the primary hiring location, the firm is also open to considering candidates based in Washington, D.C., Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:
• Managing the learning and development budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI
• Fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing across the organization
• Collaborating with the Senior Director of Professional Development to set the professional development strategy for the firm to maximize business services resources, while operating consistently with firm values
• Developing professional development offerings, including bespoke team trainings and the firm’s Business Service Academy, that align with the firm’s objectives and fosters employee growth
• Performing ongoing needs analysis to identify skill gaps and training opportunities within the firm

We’d love to hear from you if you:
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of learning and development and human resources, and how it relates to policies, job descriptions, workforce analytics, retention, and culture
• Exhibit the ability to create high level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience (generic and customized)
• Possess knowledge of and proven proficiency in adult learning, learning technologies, outstanding communication skills in all media, and strong organizational and presentation skills

And have:
• A Bachelor’s degree; with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field preferred
• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Organizational Psychology or a related field preferred
• A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible learning and development experience
• A minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in a related field
• Experience with developing, implementing and administering learning and development, coaching, and executive education programs focused on business impact
