Christelle Dorcil

Assistant Director of Associate Engagement
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom

Christelle Dorcil is the Assistant Director of Associate Engagement at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she focuses on firmwide attorney engagement and retention efforts.  Christelle works closely with firm leadership, partners, Attorney Development, DEI and Attorney Recruiting team members in all offices to develop and ensure successful implementation of programming designed to enhance the associate career experience and strengthen firm culture. Her responsibilities include oversight of global mentoring programs, lateral and incoming attorney integration, Associates' Committees, organizational feedback initiatives and the facilitation of career opportunities for associates (e.g., secondments, internal transfers and in-house referrals).  In addition, she is certified by the NeuroLeadership Institute (NLI) as a Brain-Based Coach and serves as an internal career development coach for Skadden attorneys.

Christelle began her legal career as a corporate associate in the New York office of Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft LLP and practiced corporate finance at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP in New York and Wiggin and Dana in Connecticut before joining Skadden, initially as the Professional Development Manager for Antitrust and Real Estate.  She earned her B.F.A. in Public Relations, cum laude, from C.W. Post, Long Island University and she holds a J.D. from Fordham University’s School of Law.  Christelle has experience serving in a number of nonprofit leadership roles, including as a member of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) 2022 Annual Education Conference planning committee, an inaugural member of the Syneos Health DEI Advisory Council, a past board member of the Connecticut Ballet and a charter member of the Alpha Alpha Rho Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in Norwalk, Connecticut. She served as chair of the PDC’s 2021 Summer Conference Committee and currently co-chairs the PDC DEIB Committee and New York local group.
