Orrick has an exciting opening for a Talent Coordinator to join the Lawyer Development (LD) department. This position can sit in our Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling WV, Boston, New York, or Washington DC office.

As a Talent Coordinator, you will provide general, administrative, and technical support to assist with the Firm’s Talent Initiatives. You will provide assistance with our attorney performance management initiatives, support efforts related to our attorney training programs, practice group retreats, and new associate orientation.

What responsibilities will you have?

Performance Management:
• Provide general assistance with review committee meetings
• Help coordinate and oversee the generation, assembly and distribution of reports and materials related to the review processes
• Assist in dissemination of final reviews and track delivery of all reviews
• Become an expert in review software

Training Programs, Practice Group Retreats, and New Associate Orientation:
• Support efforts related to running firmwide trainings for both attorneys and staff, including logistics, collection and distribution of materials, training room and technology set-up, electronic reminders, catering needs and attendance tracking.
• Assist with preparation of PowerPoint presentations and materials.
Mentoring Program:
• Assist with administration of the firm mentoring programs, and with the development and implementation of new mentoring initiatives and activities
• Help to maintain mentoring database and assist with running mentor reports, tracking missing mentors and communicating with HRIS re new assignments
• Assist with the planning of Mentoring May (communications, tracking, calendaring)

Other Talent Initiatives
• Assist with outreach to Flexible Work Arrangements associates
• Assist with the partner promotions process (organizing materials into folders, assisting with communications, etc.)
• Assisting with the coordination of Women’s Initiative and Parents Forum meetings

General Support
• Help maintain and update all Lawyer Development and Firm policies related to lawyers on portal, attorney handbook, and partner portal site
• Help keep LD portal page and SharePoint up to date
• Work closely with data analytics team members to run and update spreadsheets and compile data to generate and distribute confidential reports relating to associate and of counsel compensation and bonuses
• Become skilled in pulling data from eReports, PeopleSoft and Access database
• Assist in answering inquiries from attorney and administration staff regarding attorney performance and utilization
• Maintain the Lawyer Development department budget, including yearly tracking expenses
• Engage in research on market data (and other various subjects) and routinely prepare excel spreadsheets documenting results.

Qualifications:
• BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Creative, energetic and enthusiastic
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented with strong technical (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to become skilled in using systems including SharePoint, eReports, MS Access
• Ability to juggle a variety of projects for the team
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Commitment to collaboration; comfortable taking initiative
