Professional Development & Recruitment Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate firm participation in professional development programming, attorney training, recruitment programs, and summer associate program.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Director of Professional Development and Manager of Entry-Level Recruitment. Works with co-hiring partners, members of the Professional Development and Recruitment Committees, the global recruiting team and the wider human capital management function, and all attorneys. Interacts with business services professionals and with law school placement offices. May train and oversee temporary employees or interns.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Professional Development:
• Manages all aspects of the US Associates Committee for the DC office and provides support as needed to the NY office. Responsibilities include gathering agenda items, managing follow up items post-meeting, and other items as needed.
• Helps organize and supports all aspects of the various Associate Academies, including the New Associate Academy.
• Supports the mentoring programs across the firm, especially the administrative functions.
• Supports the implementation of business services training.
• Supports the implementation of the New Associate Integration Series
• Supports the delivery of varies training program series or one-off-programs.

Law Student, Entry-level, and Lateral Recruitment

• Supports all legal recruiting processes for the DC office including the summer associate program, on campus recruiting, and other recruiting events (coordinates with NY Attorney Recruitment where applicable.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with law school career services offices and coordinates the Firm’s participation in law student recruitment programs and job fairs.
• Assists with all aspects of recruiting, including registration for on-campus recruiting programs, applicant tracking system updates, marketing materials distribution, law school hospitality suite coordination, callback interviews.
• Coordinates and attends recruitment events.
• Coordinates DC and NY judicial clerk hiring process when applicable.
• Manages the SEO program for the DC office.
Summer Associate Program:
• Assists in the design and management of the DC summer associate program, including the Summer Program Orientation, the Summer Associate Academy, and the summer mentor program.
• Collaborates with NY Attorney Recruitment on cohesive summer associate programming.
• Collaborates with Human Resources to manage the onboarding process for DC summer associates.
• Assists with summer associate work assignments and evaluations.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
• Additional professional development and recruitment duties as assigned.
• Coordinates firm’s participation in 1L student recruitment events, diversity recruitment activities, etc.
• Oversees the maintenance of files and candidate database.
• Handles miscellaneous recruiting issues and inquiries from applicants and attorneys.
• Interacts with all attorneys, business services professionals, law school placement offices, and counterparts in other offices.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant legal recruiting experience.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate well with applicants, attorneys, all levels of administrative staff and contacts outside the firm both verbally and in writing; ability to work under pressure and deal with demanding deadlines; attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical and follow-through skills; ability to multi-task. Must be flexible and accommodating to the demands of the firm’s attorneys and the needs of the department, provide an excellent first impression of the firm and maintain a friendly disposition. Must be a self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision. The Professional Development and Recruitment Coordinator has access to sensitive and confidential information and the position accordingly requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Attendance: All positions require punctuality and regular attendance.
Technological Skills: Proficiency with various software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, viDesktop, Flo Recruit, and LawCruit.
