Position Summary:
The Attorney Professional Development (PD) Manager’s role is to develop, implement, and administer substantive legal training and other professional development programs to maximize the development and value of the intellectual capital of the Firm’s attorneys.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Manages Professional Development for TX and three Northern California offices (Sacramento, San Francisco & Silicon Valley).
•Executes local training programs in conjunction with firm wide development goals and materials.
•Works with the Professional Development team and local management to identify associate and shareholder training needs and deliver training that meets those needs.
•Manages the TX Associate Development Program (ADP) – Mentoring & Sponsorship Programs with Career Development Liaisons (CDLs)
•Organizes, develops and plans TX & Northern California retreats
•Manages firm-wide associate evaluation process in viDesktop includes creating forms with the HRIS team, obtaining the correct level and practice areas, training each office administrator on the process, recommending ways to get 100% participation, and supervising the team’s review and audit of all completed forms and goals.
•Collaborates with TX Integration, Diversity, Inclusion & Marketing teams.
•Works with other members of the department to ensure Texas attorneys comply with CLE requirements and assist in process improvement for CLE administrators and assistants. This includes moderating and coordinating global training CLEs.

Other Duties:
Additional other ad hoc duties may include overseeing publication of course catalogs, resources and competencies, supervising the various offices’ professional development liaisons so that they can disseminate attorney program information, and evaluating and recommending CLE or PD process improvements to ensure controls and departmental efficiency.

Skills & Competencies:
•Demonstrated leadership ability, as well as excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communications skills.
•The candidate must have the ability to operate independently and collaboratively with the Firm’s professional development team, as well as be able to work under periodic pressure to meet tight deadlines.
•The individual must be a creative thinker who can develop new ways to meet team’s goals.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Master’s Degree in Education, Organizational Development or JD preferred. 5 or more years of previous professional development experience, preferably with a law firm. Current membership in PDC preferred.
