Summary: Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, an international law firm with over 1,300 attorneys and 20 offices worldwide, seeks a bright, articulate, self-starting professional to provide support to the Professional Development department.

The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, dedicated, and poised. The position requires a team player with strong project management, organizational, communication and technological skills, with the ability to work flexibly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Schedule and coordinate all Continuing Legal Education (CLE) activities in the Los Angeles office including in-house functions, firm webcasts, and third-party training opportunities.
• Act as primary project manager for departmental initiatives, including for associate apps, multi-office presentations, and associate surveys.
• Lead the design and orchestration of departmental events, including events in support of new associate integration, office visits, program launches, and alumni engagement.
• Draft the monthly departmental e-newsletter, quarterly mentor bulletin, and other departmental communications.
• Collect, organize and maintain accuracy of departmental databases, coaching logs, and other information.
• Coordinate global Associates Committee activities, including taking meeting minutes, scheduling committee calls and monitor member rotations.
• Coordinate the Gibson Dunn Families coaching program.
• Provide support on career development and alumni initiatives, including job bank updates, resume review, candidate tracking, and alumni event planning.
• Assist with annual department budget preparation.
• Provide general administrative support for department director and managers.

• Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills paired with a service-oriented attitude.
• Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills required. Must be able to tailor written work product to appropriate audience.
• Strong organization skills with a focus on attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to multitask.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity and self-directed behavior.
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should enjoy being an integral part of a team environment.
• Established project management skills and program design experience. Demonstrated ability to make continued progress on long-term projects.
• Understanding of law firm dynamics and organization or the ability to quickly learn the nuances of a professional services business.
• Integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information with care.

Four-year college degree required. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred. Strong skills in MS Word and PowerPoint. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel. Must meet minimum testing requirements.
Must be able to work overtime before and after regularly scheduled hours and on weekends as required. Some travel may be required.
