Position Summary
We seek a highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail to coordinate professional development initiatives. The Professional Development Coordinator is a member of the Professional Development team and reports to the Professional Development Manager. This position will have a focus on GT offices on the West Coast and will be based in our Los Angeles office.

Duties & Responsibilities
The coordinator’s duties include but are not limited to:
Support the Professional Development Managers in delivering firm and practice specific training. This includes the following:
Managing program logistics including scheduling, registration, materials, and logistics including conference room facilities, catering and technology
Serving as a point of contact for internal presenters and outside consultants and vendors
Providing on-site support for training programs in the Los Angeles office
Drafting and distributing program invitations, communications and materials
Pulling attendance reports and recording attendance
Sending course evaluations
Support for local training initiatives in the LA and Orange County offices
Assist with associate orientation and integration in the LA office
Provide administrative support for associate Growing Talent series on the West Coast
Work collaboratively with the PD Managers and/or Marketing to coordinate and implement training programs, including large-scale PD Programs, skills-based workshops, and individual training classes. Support additional initiatives and programs that promote attorney development.
Assist with procedures for CLE-eligible programs including gaining a working understanding of CA CLE rules. Assist with attorney compliance and data entry for our West Coast offices.
Serve as a firm “guru” – help anyone find an answer to their question even if it needs to be elevated or found from another department. Follow up to make sure the question is resolved to satisfaction.
Build rapport with associates
Evaluate and recommend process improvements to ensure controls and department efficiency
Provide general back-up support to the PD team (director, managers and coordinators)
Assist with special projects and collaborate with other firm departments as needed
Assume other responsibilities as needed to support the Professional Development team

Ability to interface with all levels of firm employees

Qualifications & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on adult learning, organizational behavior/industrial psychology or communications
Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
Flexibility for overtime when necessary
Ability to retrieve and distribute materials weighing up to 10 pounds
