Coordinates and executes activities related to the recruiting and hiring of lawyers (entry level and lateral) as well as the summer associate program for the west coast offices. Assists the Manager of Legal Recruiting and the Senior Director of Legal Personnel, Recruiting & Global Mobility on all matters related to legal hiring. Collaborates and works closely with other Legal Recruiting and Personnel staff across the firm.


Assists the Manager of Legal Recruiting and Practice Group Leaders (PGLs) with lateral associate and career attorney recruiting initiatives including but not limited to: drafting job postings, reviewing and processing resumes, identifying and presenting qualified candidates to the PGLs, organize interview schedules, collect and synthesize interviewer’s feedback, generate offer letters, submit conflict and background checks paperwork and organize local orientation logistics.
Serve as liaison with legal placement agencies and/or prospective candidates from the initial screening stage through employment decision stage
Supports the entry level screening and callback interview process, including but not limited to, scheduling candidate interviews, preparing interview materials, researching candidate histories, tracking evaluations, submitting feedback forms and communicating with candidates.
Works closely with the Manger of Legal Recruiting to build relationships with law school career services offices, prospective candidates, and Ropes & Gray lawyers and staff.
Works with the Manager of Legal Recruiting to coordinate and execute the summer program for the west coast, including but not limited to: planning orientation and summer events; handling summer associate correspondence; gathering evaluations and reviews; participating in summer events, summer program meetings and firm wide summer program projects.
Assist with the administration of annual survey requests, including NALP, Vault and AmLaw.
Use the firm’s candidate tracking system (Lawcruit) to generate and analyze recruiting reports, statistics, and data.
Coordinates the I-9 compliance of incoming and current Associates and Summer Associates in the west coast offices. Processes new, summer, and lateral associates’ I-9 verification and conducts I-9 reverification of existing employees using eVerify.
Helps to coordinate the associate departure process on the west coast. Works closely with the Associate, appropriate Associate Development Manager, Legal Personnel Managers, Legal Personnel Coordinators, Client Intake/ Conflict Control, and Records to ensure a smooth departure.
Works with Legal Personnel Managers and Legal Personnel Coordinators to provide on the ground support for associates participating in client secondments in San Francisco. Works with various staff members to ensure successful administration of incoming and outgoing attorney secondments.
Works with Legal Personnel Managers, Legal Personnel Coordinators and Global Mobility Specialist to help integrate attorneys who are relocating to the San Francisco office to ensure a smooth transition and also provide support for attorneys who are moving from the San Francisco office to other offices
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Legal Recruiting and the Senior Director of Legal Personnel, Recruiting & Global Mobility.


Bachelor's Degree preferred
Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database programs (e.g., LawCruit, Symplicity); advanced social media (LinkedIn etc.) and web-based programs skills are highly desirable
Excellent written, oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
2+ years work experience in law firm or law school recruiting preferred.

Ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel.

This is an exempt position. Incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Must be willing to travel between the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices on a frequent basis.
