Legal Personnel and Professional Development Assistant

Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, a powerhouse firm with the heart of a boutique, is seeking a Legal Personnel and Professional Development Assistant based in the New York, NY office. The Legal Personnel and Professional Development Assistant will have firm-wide responsibility as part of the Legal Personnel Department, and will provide critical support for attorney onboarding, attorney training and development, evaluations and legal recruiting. The hours are M-F 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., but flexibility to work additional hours is required. This position works closely with Director of Legal Personnel, the Recruiting & Legal Personnel Manager and Manager of Professional Development, but will also regularly interact with attorneys, managers and administrators throughout the firm. • Assists with monitoring attorney admissions bar and records
• Assist with associate and paralegal review processes
• Assist with administrative aspects of lateral associate hiring, and the 1L and 2L summer associate interviewing processes
• Scheduling of lateral associate orientation
• Assist with lateral associate integration programming
• Assist with Summer Program events, evaluations, assignment tracking, and surveys
• Maintain personnel files and viDesktop (viRecruit, Performance Management) records
• Create and maintain internal tracking documents
• Compile data in response to external surveys and other requests
• Assist with first year orientation programming
• Help coordinate social and morale events and other special events logistics
• Perform various administrative duties for the attorney personnel, professional development and recruiting department as needed including processing of expense reports and invoices
• Additional related responsibilities and tasks as directed by team

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous law firm or professional experience preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Discretion, good judgment
• Ability to take initiative and juggle multiple priorities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must be team oriented
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with applicant tracking systems and evaluation platforms a plus
