As the L+PD D Specialist you will be responsible for contributing to the creation, development, and implementation of Goodwin’s learning and development strategies. The L+PD Specialist will also be responsible for core orientation onboarding training, assisting with needs assessments, facilitating internal programs, maintaining ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers, implementing vendor-based programs, and evaluating ongoing effectiveness of training curriculums.

What you do:

•Collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of learning and development programs for professional staff and attorneys.
•Contribute to the design, development and facilitation of current and new learning programs and curriculum offerings for professional staff i.e., mentoring programs, yearly Leaders’ Retreat, effective feedback workshops, manager and emerging leader monthly learning circles, monthly public speaking workshops, project management, business writing, quarterly learning newsletters and book clubs. Research and identify new professional staff programs and continually assess impact of current programs.
•Provide logistical + coordination support for learning programs and events, including developing and implementing project plans, event invites, budget management, contract management, calendar management, room reservations, catering contracts, preparation of program materials, survey coordination, data tracking, program administration, etc.
•Maintain training records and development activities in the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) as well as collect, prepare, and analyze program completion and effectiveness assessments reports through surveys, feedback, and LMS analytics.
•Support needs assessments by identifying learning and development gaps and future skills requirements to meet strategic business direction.
•Utilize our Learning Management System + Workday to oversee the firm’s core orientation learning plan assignments, training schedules, onboarding webinars, new hire session completion and feedback tracking as well as curriculum updates.
•Maintain the firm’s new hire integration checklists and onboarding surveys and support updates. Analyze data and provide summary analytics.
•Support the design, development and implementation of core orientation e-learnings + videos partnering with Goodwin marketing and vendors to develop.
•Contribute to the design, development and facilitation of current and new onboarding programs for professional staff and attorneys such as, new hire welcome sessions, leader integration and first year associate orientation. Additionally, research and identify new programs and continually assess impact of current onboarding programs.
•Support the design and management of the firmwide engagement survey process and provide program support for engagement initiatives.
•Manage the firm’s Educational Assistance policy.
•Build trusted partner relationships with Goodwin stakeholders by understanding the business and its needs.
•Research and make recommendations to implement new learning techniques based on best practices to provide enhancements to existing programs.
•Be a change agent and promote innovation and continuous improvement.

Who you are:

•Bachelor’s degree required with 3-5 years of prior experience in learning + development program coordination + development. Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
•Superior interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to co-facilitate programs (front of room) as well as interface effectively, professionally, courteously and confidently with internal and external customers. Must be poised and professional with the ability to take a proactive and collaborative approach with others.
•Ability to support the design + development + delivery of training sessions + events (classroom or virtual).
•Excellent computer + Learning Management Systems knowledge: Demonstrated ability to adapt to new software and learning management systems. Skills to include knowledge of Excel, creative PowerPoint presentation development as well as other Microsoft Office applications, web development tools, e-learning development tools, and social media platforms.
•Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail as well as sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
•Ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
•Ability to prioritize workload, and work on multiple projects with changing priorities.
•Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
