Diversity and Inclusion Assistant

The Diversity and Inclusion Assistant supports Firmwide initiatives to increase workforce diversity and to drive a culture where all belong and can accomplish their full potential. He/she/they plays an integral role in day to day activities involving programming for Fried Frank’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), learning solutions, and assisting the team with the implementation of the broader diversity and inclusion agenda, including data analysis and reporting. The Diversity and Inclusion Assistant works with the Manager of Diversity and Inclusion and the Diversity and Inclusion and Professional Development Specialist and reports to the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. He/she/they interacts regularly with attorneys and business services professionals across multiple departments and international locations.

Duties & Responsibilities: •Assist with diversity and inclusion programming for Employee Resource Groups, D&I trainings and Heritage Month Celebrations, including communicating with presenters, serving as a liaison for multiple offices, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, handling room logistics or virtual platforms, and reproducing and distributing program materials
•Participate in the development of new data reporting tools and assist with diversity data collection and reporting for internal and external purposes
•Help prepare Diversity & Inclusion Council meetings, materials and communications
•Assist with external events at law schools and local bar associations
•Update online activities (both internally and on social media, as appropriate) to ensure they remain current, including updating D&I resources and event recordings on the Intranet page, updating the D&I event calendar and ERG e-mail distribution lists
•Assist with processing invoices for various sponsorships and keep track of expenses and relevant correspondence
•Monitor popular sites for relevant Firm news and research best practices and maintain a library of D&I articles, benchmarks and white papers
•Learn and stay abreast of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
•Work on special projects related to diversity and inclusion activities
•Other responsibilities as assigned

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: 1-2 years of related administrative experience working in a Shared Services function. Diversity and Inclusion, Data Analytics or Human Resources experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Must be detail oriented and produce work product with a high degree of accuracy. Must exhibit strong written and oral communication skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to act in a professional manner at all times. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and database skills required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus. Exhibits strong organizational skills and demonstrates the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments effectively. Ability to work effectively under pressure with interruptions and tight deadlines. Ability to use independent judgment, problem solve, take initiative, and follow through. Ability to work positively with a wide variety of audiences and personality types, including attorneys, directors, managers, supervisors, and administrative staff.
